Gracia’s Quiche (Full Metal Alchemist)

Ingredients:


Crust

  • 1 egg

  • 1/2 cup cubed cold butter

  • 2 tsp ice water

  • 1 1/4 cup flour

  • Pinch of salt


Filling

  • Chopped bacon

  • 10 eggs

  • 1/2 cup minced onions

  • About 5-6oz of baby spinach

  • 2 cloves minced garlic

  • Pinch of salt and pepper

  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper

  • 1 cup of heavy cream

  • 1 tbsp butter

  • 1/2 cup of small chunks of gruyere cheese


Directions:

  1. Combine flour and salt and pulse in a food processor and add the cold butter and pulse.

  2. Add 1 egg with ice cold water and keep pulsing until dough forms.

  3. Flatten the dough on a flour surface and fit onto a tart pan and freeze it for half an hour.

  4. In a pan, cook minced onions and garlic with butter until translucent. Season with salt and pepper and add spinach until all wilted. Set aside

  5. Chop up bacon and and cook and drain, set on a dry towel.

  6. Crack 10 eggs in a large bowl and whisk with heavy cream, salt, pepper, and paprika.

  7. Chop up the cooked spinach and add to the egg mixture with the chopped bacon and crumbled gruyere cheese.

  8. Preheat oven at 350

  9. Remove tart from freezer and add filling and bake for 45-50 minutes. Cool and serve
